 - Sow direct to pot or container from April

 - Harvest: June-October

A a very easy herb to grow, excellent for slightly shaded areas, it also makes a good window box herb and small containers. Coriander leaves are pungent and oily however the seeds for which it is also grown have a different warm, orangey taste. The fresh young leaves can also be added to a mixed baby leaf salad.

Coriander, also know as Cilantro, belongs to the Apiaceae/Umbelliferae family as is related to anise, caraway, cumin, dill and fennel. The plants grow up to 60 cm, the leaves are lobed to start with and become more feathery as the stem gets taller. Coriander Filtro is a variety selected for better leaf production and has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Sow: April to September. Coriander does not transplant well so sow directly to pot or container whether growing indoors or outdoors. Sow 10mm deep indoors from 15-20°C and outdoors after last frost. Succession sow to have a constant supply.

GrowPrefers a sunny or partly shaded spot in well drained soil. Keep from drying out to minimise bolting.

Harvest: June to October.
